Post Testing

Labelling

Following the testing process, a label is applied to the appliance with the asset number, test status (pass or fail), company / persons that conducted the test and the recommended retest dates

These labels are placed in a convenient location on the appliance. The labels are designed to be both durable and clearly visible.

Failed Items

If an appliance fails the tests and is deemed to be unsuitable for use then it is clearly marked with a fail label and is removed from use.
Any items found to be faulty are reported to the responsible person.

Record keeping

EURO PAT use the latest in Seaward software that enables the testing information to be downloaded to a PC / laptop and then analysed and stored.

To demonstrate a long term testing programme then it is recommended that the records are kept for a minimum period of 5 years and (ideally up to 10 years)

EURO PAT stores all of the records in a secure electronic database and keeps customer records for a minimum of 5 years, in the event of reprints being necessary. Records can also be provided in electronic format, if required.

Each of the customers is presented with a personalised folder containing:-

  •  PAT test summary sheet outlining details of the site, no of appliances, pass fail ratio and  advice / recommendations.
  •  Certificates for each appliance including pass / fail status, detailed test results and  comments / actions undertaken.
  •  Asset register listing each appliance with a description, its location and retest  recommendations
  •  Fail Register – detailing all of the failed appliances, reasons and action taken
  •  Repair register – detailing any item requiring repair and action.
  •  Also included is a Portable Appliance Testing information section outlining H&S regulations  & guidelines, recommended testing schedules and processes.
Reminders

EURO PAT will keep its clients informed of retest dates as they approach.
